Tech Tuesday - Promethean ActivPanel Titanium

See this content in the original post

Over the last decade, interactive displays have become one of the most exciting and effective tools for presentation and education. Promethean’s contribution to this has been the ActivPanel Titanium, and this display is a perfect example of why this technology has emerged as a leader in the education space.

The ActivPanel comes in two different models: Nickel and Titanium. The particular model Promethean sent to us at Evolution AV was the Titanium edition, purpose-built for the classroom to provide a seamless and interactive experience for both teachers and students. In this Tech Tuesday, we will highlight a few features that help spark ideas and inspire learning.

The Unified Menu

In a classroom setting, functionality and ease of use are critical for not only the teacher’s benefit but also for the students. Having a seamless user experience ensures that the instructor can focus on delivering their lesson, and provides a higher level of engagement to the students, keeping them focused and on track.

At the bottom of the display, you will find a center console with the most commonly used control features. Angled at 30 degrees for comfort, this console is where you can control things like volume, menu, freeze frame, touch controls and input selection.

Upon clicking the center menu button in the shape of Promethean’s logo, the ActivPanel’s unified menu appears. This contains the most commonly used tools like Whiteboard, Annotate, Screen Capture and Screen Share. This menu appears on the bottom, left and right sides of the panel, making it within reach no matter where the instructor is standing.

The Applications

The apps on the ActivPanel are built with the classroom in mind. The pre-installed Classroom Essential apps have everything you need for a lesson, regardless of grade level. These apps include things like Annotate, Capture & Crop, Screen ShareSpinner, Timer, Activity Player and Whiteboard.

An honourable mention goes to another classroom-focused feature: up to 39 devices can connect to the ActivPanel! This allows students to mirror screens, share their work, and participate in the on-screen classroom activities without having to continuously pair and unpair devices.

We are grateful to Promethean for their participation in this week’s Tech Tuesday. For more information on the ActivPanel, or Promethean as a leading education technology company, visit Promethean’s website.
