Yealink is a globe-spanning brand that specializes in video conferencing, voice communications and collaboration solutions. They are one of Evolution AV’s vendor partners and the subject of today’s Tech Tuesday! Yealink sent over the A30 Video Meeting Bar for us to test out.

Simple Setup, Premium Quality

Building on the simple setup principles of the A20 (despite being designed for larger-scale rooms), the A30 is still a plug & play system. The A30 requires power, a connection to the display, and a network connection by category cable, and that’s it.

We were particularly impressed with the A30 upon its startup. It instantly formatted to display a workable Microsoft Teams configuration on the display we connected it to. Yealink also provided us with the CTP18 touchscreen control tablet to further show off the immersive meeting system that Yealink and the A30 can create.

Unparalleled Imagery

The A30 uses a two-camera system, which features an two cameras: one with 10x hybrid zoom, and an 8-megapixel digital camera with a very wide field of view. This lets the device deliver a clear visual experience with depth, which would normally be unachievable with just one camera. The hybrid zoom camera is also a physical PTZ system. This is a great value add, considering a large amount of hybrid meeting bar systems “fake” the PTZ capabilities with software zoom. The A30 has an authentic PTZ camera which physically changes the camera direction and framing. Combining that with the 10x zoom capabilities creates an auto-reframing experience that is unparalleled by many of the A30’s competing products.

AI Enhanced Audio

The A30 is designed to work in medium to large-scale rooms, and since it has a built-in independent audio processing unit, the voices come through the microphone array very clearly. Yealink’s enhanced AI noise cancellation removes any unwanted noise from the conversation. The A30 uses a deep-learning sound database to recognize and remove common office/boardroom noises that can distract from a conversation (e.g. keyboard clicks, mouse dragging, heavy breathing etc.)

Use Cases

The A30 is the ideal one-stop solution for a medium to large-scale hybrid working space. While it is primarily designed to integrate into a Microsoft Teams collaboration system, BYOD (Bring your own device) functionality is available as well, for those who need to use the device on other platforms outside of Teams.
